There is FAR too much information about Lyme disease to write here, so I'll keep this to a basic run-down that others can follow:
This Journal was created for my own use and for others to follow my progress in my fight against Lyme disease. As far as I'm aware, I've had Lyme disease for the past 5 years. Due to misdiagnosis and false negative (faulty) testing, the first two years I was not treated. The past 3 years I have been taking oral antibiotics to try and rid my body of the Lyme bacteria. When I was first diagnosed with the Bowen Lab test, my blood/lyme count was the highest possible, the lab still finding the bacteria in my blood after being dilluted 1:128 with water. After a year of treatment using Doxycyclene followed by Biaxin, I had halved that number to 1:64. After the second year of treatment, my number was still unfortunately at 1:64, the oral antibiotics clearly losing their effectiveness as the Lyme spirochete adapted. The third/past year of treatment I took oral Ketek, which didn't provide any relief, followed by a combination of Biaxin and Omnicef. This combination helped me to feel better, but as the blood tests proved, didn't actually effect the Lyme bacteria. As I stand currently, my Bowen count is still 1:64, and using the Igenix test my bands have increased slightly and my natural antibodies have actually decreased. Overall I have remained at a stalemate for the last 2 years... the antibiotics only keeping the Lyme in check, allowing me to function, but not actually get better.
This is the common setback that many patients with Chronic Lyme disease face: Antibiotics can generally only do so much. Initially, they kill the bacteria and provide some relief, but longterm antibiotic therapy often pushes the bacteria into a "cyst" form that is virtually inpenitrable. In this form, the bacteria stay relatively dormant, not really inflicting as much damage as if they were in their spirochete form (corkscrew shaped). In this stalemate, a person may "feel" better, but in fact the bacteria are just dormant, often multiplying in their dormancy, and just waiting for the patient to come off of antibiotics and face any form of stress. When this occurs, the bacteria will come out of their cyst form and rapidly spread to new ground, causing new symptoms and bringing the patient almost back to square one.
So what is the next step when this happens? Most patients will continue to fight with longterm antibiotic therapy, sometimes using IV antibiotics and suppliments which can frankly be quite dangerous. Some antibiotic treatments, when used properly in "cycles", can kill the bacteria and ultimately provide relief and perhaps eventually remission, but it is a very long and tricky road. Then there are various other alternative treatments... Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, Ozone Saunas, UV Blood treatment, and lots of herbal suppliments. Some of these work to kill the bacteria, others just provide relief. To my knowlege, none provide a full "cure" for Lyme.
The answer I believe lies with a technology developed in the late 30's by a Dr. named Royal Rife. Enter the Rife Machine: The Rife machine is an electronic device that emits powerful frequencies in the form of an Electro-Magnetic Field. It operates on the principle that everything has a "mortuary oscillatory rate" (MOR). Bridges and long overpasses are carefully built to avoid this. However it has happened in the past where, with the right wind and weight, the bridge literally self destructs from vibrations. Same deal with the right tone shattering a champagne glass or window... it requires JUST the right frequency to make the object vibrate to it's MOR and self destruct. Many scientists have observed through high power microscopes the rife frequencies disabling and destroying various microorganisms, from common paramecium to the lyme spirochete. Rife machines are quite efficient at killing a spirochete because it's long and slender... which is more fragile and succeptable to vibration: a marble or a glass rod? The major different between Rife technology and Antibiotics is that when you treat with a Rife machine, you do not push the bacteria into a cyst mode. There is no warning to them. They are immobilized and killed. Those not killed are injured, allowing your own immune system to "take care" of them. Rife frequencies do not kill every bacteria all at once. Some spirochetes will not be affected by some treatments, depending upon their orientation to the frequencies or location in the body. Rife therapy usually takes in upwards of a year to 18 months to gain remission. The first 6 months of treatment are very intense and difficult. Without antibiotics to suppress the bacteria, the way you feel is directly related to how sick you are. After several months, as you reduce the bacterial load in your body, you begin to feel better as well.
In this Journal I will be keeping track of my days and interactions with others using Rife technology versus antibiotics. I will most likely not post every day, but likely once or twice a week. I will be posting the dates I use the Rife machine, the frequencies used, how severe the herxheimer reaction is, and how long it lasts. I will also repost some conversations I've had in other Lyme groups and emails sent and received to fellow Lyme patients (with their full permission).
I hope that other sufferers of Lyme disease and those interested in Rife therapy will be able to follow my progress through this journal. Please keep in mind that I am not a doctor and that Rife Machines are not FDA approved technology. This is all experimental and Rife Machines are not a silver bullet or cure. Please do not take any information I've written as medical advice or solid factual truth. The future will tell whether this is the right step for me. I personally believe it is. It may take more than just this machine, but I believe that within 2 years I'll be done with this. Now enough of this intro, onward and upward!!
